This seasonal home in Boca Raton has been designed by our in-house interior designer Carolyn Gross to fulfill all client’s wishes.

Mizner Country Club Seasonal Home

In a perfect world all of our clients would be as easy and effortless to work with as this lovely Canadian couple who arrived in the store shortly after purchasing a seasonal home in an upscale golf community here in Boca Raton.

Our design team and the couple hit it off immediately and they were able to convey exactly what they were looking for in their get-away place. The home was empty except for a few light fixtures and a beautiful built in TV unit in the family room. The project was done in stages but completed quickly so that they were not living in a partially completed space. Their “seasonality” meant that a lot of the decisions were made by email and phone calls – technology has made the job of decorating so much easier. With the use of design tools such as CAD and Sketch Up we are able to give clients a 3D view of what the space will look like – mood boards and in store presentations are another way they we can give you a window into what your home will look like when it is finished.

The master bedroom is an oasis of peacefulness – the bedding and draperies carry through what is in the rest of the home – neutrals with pops of colors. The use of textures and tone on tone is evident everywhere. The lighting fixture is designed and manufactured in Israel by international designer and artist Ayala Serfaty and is made of silk.

The family room space utilizes many different materials – high gloss lacquer on the TV unit, smooth rich leather on the sectional, marble and wood on the cocktail table and soft wool and silk for the area carpet. Spot on what was the major trend in Milan this year – use of many different materials in one space.

The seating area is very European with a conversational area of four individual chairs perched on a fabulous circular rug this room is as inviting as it is comfortable.

I think we all feel the same though – the best thing about this project is the couple’s joy with their home and space. Seasonal could just become permanent!!

Contemporary Office Space

This was a fun and fast assignment. James Taylor a local Designer came into the showroom with a mission to find in stock furniture that could be delivered immediately to his client. We are known for our customization – after all our tagline is “Your Space. Your Lifestyle. Your Choice”. However because we know we service a clientele who are sometimes only here for four or five months a year and sometimes want instant gratification we have always stocked a lot of our bedrooms, dining rooms and offices.

James’ client wanted to surprise her husband with a new office space when he returned home from a business trip in only a few days. The results are delightful and speak for themselves. One of our most popular dining tables – a one of a kind solid wood with a live edge and chrome base was perfect for a conference table – the mink colored chairs are both a subtle foil and a complementary relaxing color.

The desk fits perfectly to the side of the room and a contemporary sofa designed by Stanley Jay Friedman and manufactured here in the United States is perfect for a meeting area. The best news – we delivered it before the husband arrived home and all of the parties were thrilled. Thank you to James Taylor for sharing your photos.

Valencia Falls Home

Not all of our projects are total home renovations or even total room renovations and sometimes these are the most fun because of the dramatic change the room takes on with only one or two new purchases.

We began with purchasing family room and living room carpets. Even though our palette was neutral we used blush and coral tones in both rooms. The living room has a stunning, sophisticated appeal using the deep walnut wood with the blush, cream and silver tones. In addition, we added soft orange pillows to the cream sofa which pulled in the artwork color and lead into the tones in the family room. The window treatments combine the blush and silver colors in a sheer contemporary drapery topped with a horizontally pleated cornice divided by a fringe.

The family room rug is variegated soft colors of beige to coral, olive green and even a purple. Our linen colored sofa has a few of those colors in ultra suede pillows.

In this particular home the client’s furnishings were used – the existing chairs were reupholstered with a blush ecopelle leather on the inside and a multi tonal fabric on the outside – instant update! The chandelier was changed in the dining room and the new draperies looked absolutely stunning. The dark console in the entry hall was changed out for a light blush lacquered one which tied everything together.

The client was especially delighted – they were left with their original furniture that they truly loved—the small changes of recovering two of the chairs and updating the draperies made the original furniture shine and look better than ever. Big or small we can do it all.

Townsend Place Condo

We met the clients, a delightful young couple from California, when they were still in the construction phase of their new condo in Boca Raton. They wanted to eliminate the walls in the kitchen so they would have a large communal living space where the family could all be together but all be doing different activities.

Due to our ability to offer all services from the ground up we were able to specify wonderful products for all the major surfaces in the space. Porcelain tile that looks like a beautiful wood floor and Caesar marble stone counters with a quartzite counter set the stage for the rest of the furnishings. The kitchen is pure white with metal accents.

Three separate built ins from our Italian manufacturer all offer different usages in this area – one was designed to house a desk, one was designed for the TV unit and the third was our closet system which was perfect for the space.

The clients love pops of accent colors. The main palette was one of taupes, soft grays and wood tones. All peaceful, restful and colors that will please for a very long time. Burnt orange was used on the leather dining chair seats – a perfect foil for the wood of the dining table and chairs. A couple of the accent chairs are in turquoise and play off the colorful glass pieces. The overall feel is one of warm sophistication. They are thrilled with the space as they should be. It is beautiful!

Woodfield Country Club Home

Jeanette Hubley, an Interior Designer from New York, worked with our in-house designer Kathy to give her client the look she wanted. The client’s home situated on a golf course has beautiful views and she wanted a warm comfortable place to enjoy her meals while also appreciating the outside space. The octagonal bay window was perfect for the size and scale of table chosen and the Italian chairs we supplied are the perfect foil for the table.

The feeling and look achieved is a wonderful blend of transitional and contemporary. Mixing wood and stainless steel can be tricky but Jeanette and Kathy pulled the look off beautifully. The light and airy feeling evoked in these pictures is exactly what they were looking for.

We were able to deliver the product they wanted without ever having the client in our showroom. We have a great network of transportation and installation people who can make your dream happen anywhere you are!

Palm Beach Gardens Home

A perfect marriage between our Design Associate and a new client for Sklar Furnishings. The client was in the process of purchasing and renovating a home in Palm Beach Gardens. They had been fortunate to sell their condo on the beach furnished and were left with an empty canvas for their new home.

This sounds like a dream come true until you realize how important it is to have good advice and design expertise. The client adored the look of the furnishings and was told that the Designer could do a full furniture layout for them on their floor plan from the builder.

Once the client explained the function of each room and their color palette, they were comfortable and excited to leave the plan with us. On their next visit, because of the sizes on the floor plan, we easily selected furniture and rugs for each room. The colors were mostly neutral but we were adding accents of blue to remind them of the Ocean.

Next came the actual house call at which time the wall paint colors were chosen and designs for their bathrooms, fireplace wall, kitchen back splash and counter top were started. Window treatments, artwork and accessories were to follow and their home was complete.

Have a look and see what you think—-we know we have very happy clients living in the home of their dreams.
