"Carefree Instructions" might be a better way to put it. One of the things consumers and designers alike appreciate most about Ultrasuede® is how easy it is to keep looking beautiful–and feeling soft and plush–for years to come.
• A quick once–over with a medium–bristle brush will restore the sensuous nap and soft luster of Ultrasuede®.
• Ultrasuede® is designed to be machine–washable. However, it is often combined with materials (for lining and the like) that don't stand up to a washing machine. So be sure to check the manufacturer's care instructions first.
• All Ultrasuede® fabrics can be dry–cleaned except for one shade of clear white used for some garments. Again, check your manufacturer's care instructions for details.
• From red wine to black coffee, most stains can be spot–cleaned with just a touch of mild soap and water.
Tough Stains
Tougher stains may require a mild cleaning fluid, which you can purchase at most hardware and drug stores. Check the chart below for details.

The magic of Ultrasuede® begins with polymer ultra–microfibers spun so light and fine, they cannot be seen by the human eye. A strand measuring more than 50 miles long would weigh less than a gram – and could be stretched from the earth to the moon, and back.
These ultra–microfibers are extruded through protective spinnerets, creating what we call the “Islands in the Sea” configuration, with ultra–microfiber filaments “afloat” in each strand.
These strands are then transformed via a complex, multi–patented process that includes ironing, curling, cutting and needle–punching, into a soft felt–like material which is then impregnated with a special adhesive binder.
Once the material is formed, the protective polymer coating is dissolved with a solvent and the material is further processed to create a fabric that is, almost paradoxically, as soft and supple as it is strong and durable. Magnified thousands of times, this cross–section reveals the densely complex yet mono–layer structure of Ultrasuede®.
