Because leather is a natural product, it needs little or no care during normal usage.

For normal care, wipe with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. This procedure applies to all aniline plus and protected leathers. Do not place any leather near a source of heat. Do not expose the leather to direct or indirect sunlight as it will fade. We do suggest a maintenance program that includes frequent dusting to eliminate dust from clogging the pores of the leather and monthly cleaning with a clean cloth and lukewarm water. On all the full aniline and nubuck leathers, we recommend only dusting the furniture.

1. For Spots and Stains

Blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. If necessary, use clean lukewarm distilled or purified water (except on full aniline and nubuck leathers) gently wipe the spill with a clean towel, and allow to air dry. If water is used, clean the entire area where the spill occurred, (for example, the entire seat cushion or entire arm). Do not dry wet areas with hair dryers, etc.

For our full aniline and nubuck patterns of leather, blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent cloth. If a stain appears it will dissipate in time.

2. For Stubborn Spots and Stains

Use a non–alkaline solution of mild clear soap and clean distilled or purified lukewarm water. Apply the soap to a clean damp sponge and wash, then rinse well with clear lukewarm water. Let air dry naturally. Always try the cleaning method in a small hidden area first. Except for full aniline and nubuck leathers, follow the instructions in the paragraph above.

3. For Butter, Oil & Grease Stains

Wipe excess butter, oil or grease off the leather with a clean, dry cloth, then leave alone as the stain should dissipate into the leather in a short period of time. Do not apply water to wash a batter, oil or grease spot.

4. Touch Up and Repair

Leather is by far the most durable upholstery material available and is extremely difficult to scratch. However if the leather is scratched or scuffed by a sharp object, it can easily be repaired. Touch up colors are available for this purpose, but a felt tip pen of a close to the original color is usually sufficient. The touch up procedure should be practiced on a small swatch of leather or a hidden area to insure color match.
