In a perfect world all of our clients would be as easy and effortless to work with as this lovely Canadian couple who arrived in the store shortly after purchasing a seasonal home in an upscale golf community here in Boca Raton.
Our design team and the couple hit it off immediately and they were able to convey exactly what they were looking for in their get-away place. The home was empty except for a few light fixtures and a beautiful built in TV unit in the family room. The project was done in stages but completed quickly so that they were not living in a partially completed space. Their “seasonality” meant that a lot of the decisions were made by email and phone calls – technology has made the job of decorating so much easier. With the use of design tools such as CAD and Sketch Up we are able to give clients a 3D view of what the space will look like – mood boards and in store presentations are another way they we can give you a window into what your home will look like when it is finished.
The master bedroom is an oasis of peacefulness – the bedding and draperies carry through what is in the rest of the home – neutrals with pops of colors. The use of textures and tone on tone is evident everywhere. The lighting fixture is designed and manufactured in Israel by international designer and artist Ayala Serfaty and is made of silk.
The family room space utilizes many different materials – high gloss lacquer on the TV unit, smooth rich leather on the sectional, marble and wood on the cocktail table and soft wool and silk for the area carpet. Spot on what was the major trend in Milan this year – use of many different materials in one space.
The seating area is very European with a conversational area of four individual chairs perched on a fabulous circular rug this room is as inviting as it is comfortable.
I think we all feel the same though – the best thing about this project is the couple’s joy with their home and space. Seasonal could just become permanent!!
