Whether we donate items, pledge financial support or open our showroom to host events, Sklar Furnishings is happy to offer help to those organizations whose daily mission is one of service to others.

Habitat for Humanity

Since Sklar Furnishings opened their doors in November 2002, we have established a strong partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Habitat provides "simple, decent, and affordable" housing for low income families. Sklar Furnishings does our part by donating thousands of dollars in merchandise to the organization that in turn is sold in ReStores; the proceeds go right back into Habitat for Humanity’s philanthropic endeavors. For our efforts, Sklar Furnishings has been a recipient of the “I Gave at the House” Award in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

APO/Military Boxes

This is a new project that the whole Sklar team is very excited about! The owners of Sklar recently learned of a family with four relatives serving in Iraq and were moved to show their appreciation for America’s soldiers. Every month, Sklar’s employees fill four APO mailing boxes to the brim with food, snacks, coffee, tea, movies, books, magazines, playing cards, you name it! These boxes are shipped overseas to deployed troops serving in the Armed Forces. From what we hear, Easy Mac is a big hit!

Caldwell Theatre Company

Sklar Furnishings also supports the Arts. During the 2007–2008 Season, Sklar joined with the Caldwell Theatre Company to present "Doubt, A Parable". Sklar Furnishings was the first business to come on board when the Caldwell Theatre Company moved to the new Count de Hoernle Theatre in Boca Raton.

Angels on Earth

Sklar Furnishings has a heart to help children and their families through tough times. Angels on Earth is an organization that helps men, women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Every year they hold a Christmas Program to adopt a family and surprise them with bundles of gifts. Sklar Furnishings has participated in this heart–warming program by adopting a family of seven people and gifting bicycles, watches, clothes, shoes and toys during the holiday season.

Boca Helping Hands

Sklar Furnishings has developed a rewarding program through their annual Christmas and holiday card mailings. On the back of the cards, customers are offered money off of their next purchase with the donation of canned or non–perishable goods. The food collected is then donated to Boca Helping Hands, who helps individuals and families through food and assistance programs.

Wigs for Kids

Wigs for Kids is a non–profit organization that provides free human–hair wigs to children suffering hair loss from medical treatments, health conditions or burn accidents. Recently an employee cut her hair for this cause and donated a ponytail over 13 inches long!
